One of the easiest methods to own a credit card if you bank with Access Bank, is to register for a Dual Transaction Service (DTS) account.

Access Bank's Dual Transaction Service (DTS) offers a seamless way to access a credit line using your existing debit card, eliminating the need for a separate credit card. This means that you do not have to own a separated credit card, the credit card service will be accessed on your existing debit card.

According to a statement from the bank, the DTS is a bundle service designed to allow pre-approved customers to access a credit line through their existing debit card.

In this guide, I will walk you through how you can register for the DTS account and how to activate the credit card service that exist on your debit card.

Access Bank Dual Transaction Service (DTS) Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the DTS, ensure you meet the following requirements:

  • Salary Account Holder: Maintain a salary account with Access Bank.
  • Banking Relationship Duration: Have at least six months of banking history with regular monthly salary credits.
  • Minimum Salary: Earn a minimum monthly salary of ₦20,000.
  • Good Credit Standing: Possess a satisfactory credit history.

How to Register and Activate Access Bank Dual Transaction Service (DTS)

You can register for the DTS in two ways, using the USSD channel or on the bank's mobile application, ACCESS MORE.

If you are using the USSD channel, the phone number you are dialing on must be the phone number that is registered on your Access bank account. If not, the process will not be completed.

In the case you want to use the Access MORE mobile banking application, you must already have a mobile banking profile created, so that you can login with your username and password.

METHOD 1: How to Activate the Dual Transaction Service on USSD

Step 1. To activate your DTS, open the dialer on your phone and dial the code - *901*14#

Select the option ‘1’ in the available list of options, to agree to the ‘terms and conditions’ and click ‘send’

Step 2. After you have clicked ‘send’, your request gets submitted to Access Bank and the DTS account gets activated within 48hours.

You will get a notification by text and mail that your DTS account has been activated.

Step 3. When your account is activated after 48hours, you can now access their credit limits on the ATM/POS.

When you use your card on ATM/POS, you will be provided an option to select ‘Credit’. If credit is selected, the transaction will be initiated on your credit card account.

METHOD 2: How to Activate the Dual Transaction Service on ACCESS MORE Mobile App

Step 1. Download AccessMore App on your smrtphone and log in to your Access Bank internet banking account.

Step 2. On the homepage of the app, select ‘Menu’ icon on the screen to open up the menu.

Go to “Cheques & Cards” on the menu page and select “DTS” to open ‘The DUO platform’

Agree to the ‘terms and conditions’ and click ‘Next’

Step 3. The application will prompt you to create a 4-digit PIN. Type in the 4-digit pin, and once successful, your account gets activated within 48hours.

Step 4. When your account is activated after 48hours, you can now access their credit limits on the ATM/POS.

When you use your card on ATM/POS, you will be provided an option to select ‘Credit’. If credit is selected, the transaction will be initiated on your credit card account.
