After you login, Click on the New Request button on the dashboard to create a new verification request.

You will now need to upload clear front and back images of your driver’s licence as an image or PDF document.

You are also required to upload a scanned letter as an image or PDF document justifying your reasons for driver’s license verification. Once that is done, click on the Applicant’s Proof of Identification button to select a valid government-issued identification document you possess. This could be your Nigerian passport, national ID, or voter's card.

Next, upload clear front and back images of your proof of identity as an image or PDF document.

On the Request Type button, select Drivers License Verification from the drop-down.

Enter your driver's license number, class of license, issuance date, expiry date, and first issuance date on the required fields.

Choose Nigeria to choose the receiving country and a detailed address of the receiving authority.

To complete the shipping details, enter the recipient's email address and phone number.

Note that applications with residential or personal addresses as the receiving address rather than an agency address will not be processed, irrespective of payment.

Pay for the verification service and the shipping fee or both using a debit card.

Method 2 of 5:  Verify with Reference ID Number (RID)

Another method to verify the authenticity of a Nigerian driver's license is to use the reference ID number. This can be done on the FRSC verification platform.

Open a web browser and visit the FRSC verification platform. On the page, input the document's reference number or License number.

Once that is done, click on VERIFY DOCUMENT.

A new page will load, requesting that you enter other details such as your full name, the license  number, and the date the document was issued.

Click on the 'Verify Document' button.

Method 3 of 5: Using NIGERIADRIVERSLICENCE.ORG website

You can also determine whether your driver’s license is authentic or not by using the website https://nigeriadriverslicence.org. To use this website to verify the validity of your driver’s license, follow these steps:

  • Select “DL Application”
  • If your driver’s license has already expired, select “Renewal of Driver’s License” from the drop-down menu
  • Input your driver’s license number and birthdate in the corresponding boxes
  • Click the search icon
  • Click “OK” to validate your driver’s number information
  • If your driver’s license is authentic, your information will show up on the screen
  • Nothing would show up on your screen in the event that your driver’s license is fake.

Method 4 of 5: Using the App

To verify your driver’s license using the FRSC mobile app, follow these steps:

  • Download the FRSC mobile app from the official website or app store.
  • Open the app and select the “Driver’s License Verification” option.
  • Enter your driver’s license number and other required details.
  • The app will display your license status and any necessary updates.
  • Using the app regularly helps keep your documents up-to-date and ensures you’re driving legally.

Method 5 of 5: PHYSICAL EXAMINATION

You can rely on the security features of a genuine national driver’s license in addition to using the FRSC NDLV portal to confirm the validity of your driving licence. These characteristics set originals apart from copies.

The following characteristics of the National Driver’s License should be noted:

LASER PERFORATION

When you hold an original national driver’s license up to a light, you can notice tiny holes on the front and back of it.

GHOST PORTRAIT

The ghost portrait, which is effectively a tiny reproduction of the real photo image on the license, is another feature to verify the validity of a national driver’s license.

MICROPRINTING

A magnifying glass will allow you to read the tiny lettering on an original national driver’s license, which may just look like a solid line. This feature wouldn’t be present on a fake driver’s license.
