How to Request, Track, Activate, Block, or Cancel Your Kuda Card in Nigeria

Kuda, also known as Kuda Technologies Limited, identifies as a Microfinance bank and it is one of the fast growing fintech technologies in Nigeria.^[1]

Just like every other regular bank, Kuda Bank offers a fast and convenient way to get a physical debit card that you can use to settle all your daily spending needs by shopping online, making POS payments, or withdrawing cash.

In this article, I’ll walk you through how to you can request a Kuda debit card and how to take other actions like, tracking, activating, blocking and canceling your Kuda Card in Nigeria.

What You Should Know

It is assumed in this article that you have already installed the Kuda app and have registered for an account on the app.

How to Request a Kuda Card

If you want to request a Kuda Card, simply open the Kuda app on your phone and tap the “Cards” option at the bottom of your screen.^[2]

From there, tap on “Request A Card,” then choose “Get A Physical Card.”

You’ll be asked to create a PIN for the card and tap “Next” to continue.

After that, you can decide how you want the card delivered—either to your home or for pickup at a designated location.

If you choose pickup from another location, you’ll need to enter the delivery address, and note that a delivery fee will apply.

You’ll also be asked to provide another phone number for the delivery team to contact you.

Keep in mind that each card request costs ₦1,000, and your card should be delivered within three weeks.

How to Track Your Kuda Card Request

To keep track of your card request, just open the Kuda app again and tap “Cards” on your dashboard.

After the cards page is open, tap “Track Card.” You’ll be able to see updates on your card’s status, including whether it’s been confirmed, dispatched, or ready for pickup.

How to Activate Your Kuda Card

Once your card arrives, you need to activate it before you can be able to use the card for payment.

To activate your card , open the Kuda mobile app and tap on “Cards” on the dashboard, then tap “Activate Card.”

Follow the instructions shown and tap “Activate Card” again.

You’ll be asked to enter the card number, which you can find on the back of the card.

After you have submitted the card number that is found at the back of your debit card,  tap “Next,” and your card will be ready to use.

How to Block Your Kuda Card

If for any reason you need to block your card, maybe it’s lost or stolen, you can also do that right in the Kuda app.

Once you have your Kuda app open, click on “Cards,” to open that debit cards page.

After opening the debit card page, click on the “Block Card,” link and swipe the toggle to the right.

Your card will be blocked and will no longer be active to make payments.

🚨 Note: Once you block your Kuda Card, you’ll need to request a new one and it will cost you ₦1,000 again.
