To stop unsolicited messages from Airtel, MTN, 9mobile, GLO and any other network provider, use the do not disturb code of 2442 by typing ‘STOP’ and sending to 2442 to stop all unsolicited messages.

You can send ‘HELP’ to the same code and follow the prompt to choose the options of the types of messages you want to receive.

You can also send ‘STATUS’ to 2442 to see if your choices have been implemented.

How to Opt Out of All Unsolicited Messages

Locate the Messaging App on your mobile phone and tap on it to open.

In the message body, type the word: STOP and send it to 2242.

Double-check the number (2442) and the keyword (STOP) to be sue they are typed correctly and tap “Send” to submit your request.

After this, you should no longer receive promotional messages from your network provider.

How to customize the types of messages you want to receive

If you wish to only receive a particular type of text message, you can also customize the type of messages you want your network providers to send to you.

How to Check Your DND Status
